Solar PV

Here comes the sun, there go your bills

Solar PV

Harnessing the power of the sun

Solar PV panels are an eco-friendly way of reducing your electricity bills, providing a sustainable source of energy for your home.

How do solar panels work?

Solar photovoltaic panels use sunlight to create clean energy for your home. Cells across the panels, which are usually made from semiconducting materials like silicon, absorb sunlight and create a flow of electricity that can then be used by your home. Solar PV panels begin producing electricity as soon as they’re installed – even when it’s cloudy.

How does it benefit you?

Carbon down

It’s the eco-friendly way to power your home, reducing your carbon footprint. Popping the kettle on never felt so green.

 Bills down

Watch those electricity bills drop as you no longer need to solely rely on your energy supplier.

Maintenance down

With a lifespan of around 20 to 25 years, solar PV panels need little maintenance – they even get cleaned by rainfall, so nature really does all the work for you!

Solar PV FAQs

Will there be solar panels fitted on my home?

Solar PV panels are currently being rolled out across many new Bellway developments. Speak with an advisor at your chosen development to find out more.

Is it sunny enough in the UK for solar panels?

Yes! Even when it’s cloudy, solar panels can produce enough electricity for your home.

Will I still need my energy supplier?

Typically, your solar panels will produce enough electricity to offset the fees you pay to your electricity provider, but there are times when your solar panels will not produce electricity (for example, at night) so, depending on your usage, you may still require power from the grid.
