If charity begins at home, we’re starting with ours. Bellway supports amazing local and national causes, doing our part to make a positive difference to everyone, everywhere in Britain.
At Bellway we give everyone the chance to support a cause they care about. We do this in three ways:
Our ethos is to support both the local communities where we build and those less fortunate than ourselves.Jason Honeyman – Chief Executive Officer
Cancer Research UK
A charity that needs no introduction, Cancer Research UK has been in partnership with Bellway since 2016. We’re proud to support this amazing charity through a whole spectrum of fundraising events – our people have baked (and eaten) hundreds of cakes, walked, cycled and ran thousands of miles, and raised millions of pounds for Cancer Research UK. £5.10million, to be exact. And we’re still going.
Variety, the Children’s Charity
Over 600,000 children with disabilities are currently living in poverty in the UK. That’s heartbreaking to us. We’ve partnered with Variety, the Children’s Charity that provides life-changing practical support for disabled and disadvantaged children so they can reach their full potential. Our goal is to fund six of Variety’s iconic blue Sunshine Coaches by the end of July 2027, each of which will be donated to SEND schools and non-profit organisations so their young people can get out and about safely.
Everyone deserves to live in a happy, healthy community. We give back to the areas where we build our new homes; from small but significant gestures like sponsoring grassroots football teams, to holding Christmas gift drives for local children to make sure nobody has an empty stocking.
Our people in Bellway’s divisional teams know their area best and have a dedicated budget to support the local causes and charities that most need our support. They can give their time too, whether that’s rolling up their sleeves to volunteer at a nearby animal rescue centre, or grabbing the bin bags to do some litter picking.
Being a proud North East company we work with the Community Foundation that covers Tyne and Wear and Northumberland, as well as the Greggs Foundation Breakfast Club Programme. We also welcome requests for support from charities all over Britain, and you can get in touch with us at charities@bellway.co.uk. If we’re able to help, we’ll get back to you.
Supporting charities is just one part of Bellway’s commitment to building a better future, for everyone. Whether you’re in one of our homes, or one of our wider communities. Find out more about how sustainability shapes every new Bellway home and neighbourhood from the ground up.
